Do I need to change my phone number or phone system?

How does Mala work alongside my front desk staff?

Does Mala send appointment confirmations?

Yes. Once an appointment is booked through Mala, we automatically send the patient a text message confirming the details — including the date, time, provider, and any instructions they need to prepare for their visit. Confirmation messages are fully customizable to match your practice's tone and include whatever pre-visit information you'd like patients to receive.

What happens if a call needs to be handled by a human?

Mala recognizes when a situation requires human attention — for example, an emergency scheduling request for same-day, an urgent clinical inquiry, or a patient who simply prefers speaking to a person. In those cases, Mala lets the patient know that a team member will follow up, and immediately notifies your staff via SMS with the details so they can reach out quickly.
